Where do I get the material?

Electrician

• Two lengths of shielded coaxial cable(not necessarily high-frequency one). May be also one length of double coaxial cable (molded together from factory). Requirements:
  • Weatherproof. Otherwise Ronja has to be installed behind a window. Or the cable must be in the whole run installed in plastic skirtboard or in a flexible plastic wiring conduit. The ends and transitions of these protectors must be sealed against accumulation of water inside.
  • Length according to distance between AUI Forte/Twister and optical heads
  • Both inner wire and outer wire must be solderable
  • Stranded wire is preferred for the inner wire. Hard wire increases the risk of breaking
  • If the inner wire is a hard wire, it must not be plated (galvanized).
  • Interwoven shielding is preferred to spiral one
  • Other type of cable, especially UTP or STP, is not allowed!

  Maximum length is specified according to the table:

  high-frequency (radio, tv, or evene wifi) coaxial cable, for outdoor installations	100m	Outdoor

  If cable is not for outdoor, shall go mainly indoor and partially outdoor, placing it into protective plastic sheath (gooseneck) is highly recommended. If the cable path is longer than 30m, double HF coaxial must be used (RG58 or radio or TV coax).
• 2.1m of coaxial cable. The same requirements apply as to above long coaxials.
• 1m of insulated flexible single-conductor with >= 1mm^2 crosssection
• 0.4m of 4mm^2 hard copper wire, insulated
• DE9 connector (commonly misspelled ad DB9), female, for cable, with metalic or metalized covers. If two coaxials fit into one connector, 1 pc., otherwise 2pcs.
• Solderable eyelet with hole for M6 bolt
• Duct tape - black, red, blue
• Rosin flux
• Solder
